On Sunday, we hosted a special family event for the entire family. A special show was organized for the children, the event carried on with a giant dreidel piñata which gave out gifts for the children and concluded with the candle lighting ceremony.

The eight-days of Chanukah begun last Wednesday the 27th of November, a splendour that has become a custom in Cyprus for the past 10 years.
Hundreds turned up to celebrate and attended the official ceremony which took place at the Municipal theatre in Larnaca.
The Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Louroutziatis addressed the crowd, congratulating the community and wished them to continue to flourish and grow.
Chanukah traditional cuisine, composed by the “Latkes” fried potato balls, and sweet doughnuts as well as our Kosher wine from Cyprus was enjoyed by all.

This week the 16th EPP group annual interreligious dialogue “Religions in the processes of peace building and conflict resolution in the Mediterranean region” had taken place in Nicosia and at the session for Peace in the Mediterranean, I had the opportunity to address the attendance, I had chosen to remind everyone of the “ Universal Morality and the Seven Noahide laws” which in my belief if we will stick to it, we will have peace in the middle east and entire world.
Sukkot always gives a special sensation to all of us, especially when talking about Sukkot in Cyprus.
Throughout the 7 days of Sukkot hundreds of guests passed by our huge Sukkah in Larnaca, as well as the special "Sukkah-Mobiles" which tour the island.
Last Sunday we enjoyed an amazing "Sukkah under the stars" party with live music, dancing, Kids Programmes including a magician, trampolines, BBQ and much L'chaim!
Throughout the 7 days of Sukkot hundreds of guests passed by our huge Sukkah in Larnaca, as well as the special "Sukkah-Mobiles" which tour the island.
Last Sunday we enjoyed an amazing "Sukkah under the stars" party with live music, dancing, Kids Programmes including a magician, trampolines, BBQ and much L'chaim!
The high holidays are just around the corner and this was the time to the children into the spirit.
We held some fun and educational workshops with Honeycookies, shofar decorating, Sukkah arts and crafts.

A proud decade of service
We had a wonderful day of celebrations, when we marked our 10th year presence on the island.
Joining us in the celebrations, were our guests of honor, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, The Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Louroutziatis as well as many diplomats, ministers, visitors and dear members of our community.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in celebrating this joyous milestone – and I look forward to serving our community for many more years to come.

On Thursday 9th of May 2013, we marked our 10th year anniversary on the island.
We also had the great honor of welcoming a new Torah scroll to the synagogue - Generously donated by Eliyahu Bareli in the merit of his family.

We had a beautiful Lag B’Omer last Sunday, with many members of our community joining in the celebrations with dancing, music and the lighting of the bon fire.
It was especially pleasing to see all the children’s smiling faces, having fun while learning about Lag B’Omer in the process.
