Sukkot always gives a special sensation to all of us, especially when talking about Sukkot in Cyprus.
Throughout the 7 days of Sukkot hundreds of guests passed by our huge Sukkah in Larnaca, and Limassol as well as the special "Sukkah-Mobiles" which tour the island.
We enjoyed an amazing "Sukkah under the stars" party with live music, dancing, Kids Programmes including a magician, trampolines, BBQ and much L'chaim!

It is with much joy that we announce the opening of our new branch of Chabad centres in Limassol
We would like to thank all who attended and helped to celebrate the very happy occasion of the opening of a new Chabad Centre in Limassol.
The Center is now fully operational for the community and visitors.

The Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin as well as a delegation from the Jewish community in Cyprus, joined President Nicos Anastasiades at the unveiling of a plaque to honour Cypriots that helped Jewish refugees during their stay in the British detention centre in Dhekelia between 1946-9.
During World War II and right after that, Cyprus became a place of transit of about 53,000 holocaust survivors, trying to reach British ruled Palestine, before the foundation of the state of Israel.
The event was organised by the Embassy of Israel and the Xylotymbou community council.

We had a beautiful Lag B’Omer last Sunday, with many members of our community joining in the celebrations with dancing, music and the lighting of the bon fire.
It was especially pleasing to see all the children’s smiling faces, having fun while learning about Lag B’Omer in the process.

Matza bakery 2014
As every year, the children of the Cyprus Jewish Community have experienced a unique and amazing activity, the Matzah Bakery.
Part of the educational program for our children, the Matzah Bakery is a small projection of the Matzah Shmurah production line since its very beginning.
The kids have the opportunity to “transform the wheat into flour”, to prepare the Matzot and even to bake it.
And the most amazing experience is to see the kids going home by the end of the day, with their own Matzah in hands, a big smile stamped on the face, and one more step towards a happy Jewish life in their hearts.

Tu B’Shevat was marked this year with an event held for the entire family at the Achna Educational Campus, Abbirim.
Trees were planted, songs sang and traditional food served and enjoyed by all.

As every year we hosted the Annual Event of Friends of the Cyprus Jewish community - Chabad in Israel.
Which with every passing year, hundreds of friends attend and our exposure is growing and the event becoming ever larger.
